Books

Living More With Less | Doris Janzen Longacre
I highly recommend this guide to simple, sustainable, ethical living. It contains practical tips for every aspect of life, from food and clothing to housing and travel. It was updated in 2010, but I read the original 1980 version, which is what the link above goes to.

Kinda Crunchy | Tiffany Terczak
This "31 Day Challenge to Frugal Natural Living" helps you slowly remove toxic products from your home. Each daily challenge offers three difficulty levels so you can choose the actions that work for you. As far as I know, it's only available on her website.

Walden | Henry David Thoreau
I cannot even begin to tell how much I love this book. It is soul food, brain food, a brutal critique of humanity and beautiful portrait of simplicity with stunning descriptions that lend themselves well to being read aloud.

This simple, down-to-earth cookbook is one of my favorites. In addition to practical recipes that encourage seasonal eating, this book includes a handy selection and storage guide for produce.

If you want to start eating more plant-based meals, this is an excellent cookbook to start with. Familiar ingredients, simple recipes.

This cookbook is an excellent handbook for eating well on a budget. Download the free PDF version online or purchase an updated paperback copy.
